Get your student list out of Edunext

You want the student list, saved as Excel. It takes a few minutes.

General steps. Edunext's menus may use different names; the report you want is the one listing every student with their details.

Edunext: look for
Student List Student Details Student Master Nominal Roll Student Report
  1. Open the student module and find the student list or student report. Software calls it different things: Student List, Student Details, Student Master, Nominal Roll.

  2. Choose all classes and active students. If it only shows one class at a time, export each class; they become one list here.

  3. Use the Export, Excel or XLS button to download it. CSV works too.

  4. Upload every file here exactly as it downloaded: titles, page headings and class totals in it are fine.

Then, on tuition.in

Four screens, and nothing is saved until the last one

Open Move Your Data on your dashboard and choose Edunext. Every answer is kept as you give it, so you can stop and carry on tomorrow.

1Upload the file

The Edunext file as it downloaded. It says which report it is and how many students it holds.

2Answer what needs you

Which columns are which, odd class names, two children with one number. Most important first.

3Look over your school

Class strength section by section, your total against the one you know, and any student in full.

4Go live

Your register, classes and sections are filled in, and you can undo the whole move for 30 days.

Add the UDISE+ download alongside

Edunext's list brings admission numbers, dates of birth and phone numbers. The UDISE+ download adds each child's PEN, category and the details the government holds. The same child in both files becomes one student.

If Edunext won't export

Ask Edunext Technologies for your school's data

Your school's records are yours. If the export is locked or missing details, send this to Edunext's support team. Until it arrives, the UDISE+ download gets your students and classes in.

Subject: Full export of our school's data

Dear Edunext team,

Please send us a complete export of our school's records in Excel or CSV:
  - every student, current and left, with admission number, name, class and section, date of birth, gender, parents' names, phone numbers, address, category, PEN and every other detail on record;
  - fee structures, dues still outstanding, and receipts, as separate files.

This is our school's own data. We'd be grateful to have it within seven days.

Thank you.
Questions schools ask

About moving from Edunext

Do we have to stop using Edunext first?
No. You only download a report from Edunext; nothing in it changes. Keep using it while you check your school here, and for as long as you need it after.
What if our Edunext screens look different?
These are general steps; Edunext's menus may name things differently. Any report that lists your students with their details works: look for Student List, Student Details, Student Master, Nominal Roll, and export it to Excel or CSV.
Does the Edunext file need cleaning up first?
No. Upload it as it downloaded. The school name and session at the top, class headings, totals, and headings repeated on every page are all understood and skipped; only the students go through.
What if Edunext won't let us export?
Two ways round it. Download your active students from the UDISE+ portal, which every recognised school can do without asking anyone. And send Edunext Technologies the letter on this page: your school's records are yours.
Is anything saved before we've checked it?
No. You see every student, class and section, and your total against the number you know, before you press Go live. After that, one click undoes the whole move for 30 days.
Is tuition.in connected with Edunext Technologies?
No. Edunext belongs to Edunext Technologies. tuition.in reads the files it exports and isn't affiliated with it.
