Step 1 — Register
- Go to /register?role=institution&type=college. Role is pre-selected as Institution → College.
- Use your official college email address (e.g.,
[email protected]). This builds credibility and speeds verification. - Enter a password and accept the terms, then click Create account.
- You'll land at the institution dashboard. Your college profile is created with
institutionType: "college"— the platform uses this to list you in the correct category pages.
Step 2 — Basic information
Go to /dashboard/institution/edit. Fill in the following:
- Institution name — your official registered name. This appears in search results, course pages, and the college directory. Avoid abbreviations in this field; keep them for the tagline.
- Tagline — one line (max 120 chars). Think of it as your admissions pitch: "NAAC A+ accredited engineering college · 95% placement record".
- Description — 3-5 paragraphs. Cover your history, programmes, infrastructure, achievements, and why students should choose you. Written carefully, this directly influences search indexing.
- Logo — your official logo. Square format preferred, 400×400 px minimum, PNG with transparent background if available.
- Cover photo — a wide campus shot (1920×1080 px recommended). This is the hero banner at the top of your listing page.
- Established year — e.g., 1981. Signals institutional maturity.
Step 3 — Location & contact
- Address — your physical campus address. Shown on your listing and used for map links.
- City & state — required to appear in city-filtered pages like
/colleges/pune/engineering. - Phone — admissions/enquiry number. Shown publicly on your listing.
- WhatsApp — if your admissions team is reachable on WhatsApp, add it here. A WhatsApp enquiry button appears on your listing.
- Email — admissions or general enquiry email. Displayed on your listing.
- Website — your official website URL. Opens in a new tab from your listing page.
Step 4 — Academics & affiliation
- Affiliation — the university or board your college is affiliated to (e.g., "Osmania University", "JNTU Hyderabad", "Autonomous"). Shown prominently on your listing.
- Recognitions — NAAC grade, NBA accreditation, NIRF ranking, UGC recognition, autonomous status, etc. Each recognition appears as a badge on your listing card.
- Grades served — for colleges: typically "Undergraduate", "Postgraduate", "PhD". Used by the subject/level filter on the colleges page.
- Subjects / streams — the broad disciplines you offer: "Engineering", "Medical", "Commerce", "Arts", "Management", etc.
Step 5 — Gallery & videos
Students visit college pages to visualise campus life. Rich media dramatically increases the time they spend on your page.
- Gallery photos — upload 6-12 photos: campus buildings, labs, library, hostels, sports facilities, cultural events. JPEG/PNG, max 10 MB each. These appear in a scrollable grid on your listing.
- YouTube videos — paste YouTube URLs for campus tours, placement drives, student testimonials, or event highlights. Up to 10 videos. Thumbnails are fetched automatically.
- Uploaded videos — if you prefer to host short MP4/WebM clips directly (e.g., a 60-second teaser), upload them here (max 100 MB each).
Step 6 — Online courses
Colleges can run live online courses on Tuition.in — bridging revision classes, entrance exam prep, bridge courses, or certification programmes directly through your institution listing. Each course has its own enrollment, batch, and payment flow.
- Go to /dashboard/institution/courses/new.
- Fill in the course details (title, subject, target grade, description).
- Add a batch with a price and schedule live classes in it.
- Publish the course — it appears on your college listing page under "Courses".
Step 7 — Verification & listing
Our team reviews college profiles manually before publishing them in the directory. The review checks:
- Name, tagline, description, logo, and cover photo are present.
- Address, city, and state are filled.
- At least one contact method is provided (phone, email, or website).
- Affiliation and recognitions are plausible (we do a quick search).
- No duplicate listing for the same institution already exists.
Reviews typically complete within 1-2 business days. After approval:
- A Verified badge appears on your listing card.
- Your page is live at
/colleges/{city}/{college-slug}and indexed by Google. - You appear in the college directory filters by city, stream, and affiliation.
SEO & discovery tips
- Write a detailed description. 300+ words with programme names, facilities, and achievements rank well. Thin descriptions ("Best college in Pune") don't.
- Use your full official name in the Name field. e.g., "Symbiosis Institute of Technology" not "SIT". Abbreviations confuse search indexing.
- Add recognitions. Listings with NAAC/NBA/NIRF badges stand out visually and are a trust signal students look for.
- Keep media fresh. Update gallery photos each academic year. Pages with recent photos rank better in Google Images and signal an active institution.
- Share your listing page URL. Your
/colleges/…page is shareable — link it from your official website and social channels to build backlinks that reinforce your search ranking.
FAQ
Our college is already listed but we don't have an account — how do we claim it?
Email [email protected] with your official email address and proof of authority (a letter from the principal or registrar). We'll transfer the listing to your new account.
Can we list multiple campuses?
Each physical campus should have its own listing. Create separate institution accounts per campus, or write to support if you need a multi-campus setup under one account.
How do student enquiries reach us?
Students can click the WhatsApp button (if configured), email link, or call the phone number directly from your listing. In-platform messaging (where students send enquiries via the dashboard) is on the roadmap.
Can we run paid online courses?
Yes — same as tutors. You'll need a Razorpay linked account for payouts. Write to [email protected] to get that set up.
