Young Naturalist for ages 7–12

There is more wildlife within a hundred metres of most homes than children ever notice. This workshop teaches them to look. Your child learns to identify common Indian birds, read leaves, observe insects with a hand lens, and record it all in a field journal, with a short nature walk between sessions.

Leaves and small livesSession 2

Leaf shapes and edges, and insects observed with the hand lens. A short nature walk with a parent before session 3.

Questions parents ask

About Young Naturalist

We live in a flat with no garden. Does it still work?
Yes. Common birds visit balconies and windows in every Indian city, and the walk can be in any nearby park or street with trees.
Are the insects harmed?
No. Children observe insects in the viewer for a few minutes and release them where they found them. Caring for living things is part of the workshop.
Who runs this workshop?
guru.cool runs it live online, with a coach and a batch of children of a similar age. Tuition.in lists the workshop and passes your seat request to guru.cool.
What happens after I reserve a seat?
guru.cool calls or messages you to confirm a batch time and the fee, and the address the kit should go to. Nothing is charged when you reserve.
When does the kit arrive, and can we keep it?
The Field Explorer Kit ships to your door before session 1, and everything in it is your child's to keep.
