Junior Debate & MUN for ages 11–15
Model United Nations teaches children to research, argue and compromise, all in one exercise. Each child is given a country and a real global issue, writes a short position paper, delivers an opening speech, then negotiates with other 'delegates' to pass a resolution. Debate formats are taught first so the committee runs well.
A researched country position, a speech in a mock UN committee, and written feedback
How 3 sessions get there
Each session is 90 minutes, live, and builds on the last. Your child is doing something for most of it.
Claims, evidence and rebuttal. A short structured debate on a light motion, then on a serious one.
How MUN works, how to research a country quickly and reliably, and writing a one-page position paper.
Opening speeches, a moderated caucus, drafting and voting on a resolution. Written feedback for each delegate afterwards.
What your family needs to know
You'll need
- A laptop for research and the committee session
- About an hour of research between sessions 2 and 3
Ready if
Your child reads the news, or wants to, and is comfortable speaking in English.
Where you come in
Ask about the country they represented. Explaining another country's view is the point of MUN.
Reserve a seat
guru.cool will call to confirm a batch time and the fee.
