Python for Young Coders for ages 10–14
Python is the language universities, data scientists and AI researchers use, and it reads almost like English. This workshop is the step after Scratch: six sessions of typing real code in a browser editor, drawing with turtle graphics first, then building a quiz game that asks questions, checks answers and keeps score.

How 6 sessions get there
Each session is 60 minutes, live, and builds on the last. Your child is doing something for most of it.
Draw shapes with Python's turtle, and see that a square is just 'move, turn' four times. The first loop is written by hand.
Ask the player's name, store it, and do arithmetic with what they type. Learn why '5' and 5 are not the same thing.
if, elif and else. Build a number-guessing game that says 'higher' or 'lower'.
while loops, counters and breaking out. The guessing game now gives seven tries and counts them.
Store questions and answers in lists, shuffle them, and ask them in a new order every time.
Put it all together: a quiz on a topic each child chooses, with a score and a final message. Everyone runs each other's quiz at the end.
What your family needs to know
You'll need
- A laptop or desktop with a keyboard (no installation needed, the editor runs in the browser)
Ready if
Your child types comfortably and has done some block coding, or is simply curious and patient with small mistakes.
Where you come in
Ask your child to explain one line of their code to you each week. Explaining it is how it sticks.
Reserve a seat
guru.cool will call to confirm a batch time and the fee.
