Where the marks come from

Where CMA Final's marks come from

Eight papers of 100 marks under Syllabus 2022, arranged in two groups of four (Papers 13-16 and 17-20). Paper 20 is an elective chosen at enrolment from three options, and is not modelled on this hub, since a question set built for one elective is of no use to a candidate who chose another — this hub covers Papers 13-19, the seven compulsory papers, in full.

Corporate and Economic Laws100 marks · 14.3%

Group III. Companies Act governance provisions share the paper with securities, competition, FEMA, PMLA and consumer-protection law — several of which carry recently changed, easy-to-get-wrong numeric thresholds.

Strategic Financial Management100 marks · 14.3%

Group III. Advanced capital budgeting, security analysis, portfolio theory, derivatives and forex risk — this hub aliases almost the entire paper from CA Final's own Advanced Financial Management content.

Direct Tax Laws and International Taxation100 marks · 14.3%

Group III. Company, firm and trust taxation, GAAR, transfer pricing and international tax treaties — aliased wholesale from CA Final's Direct Tax paper, which examines an identical body of law.

Strategic Cost Management100 marks · 14.3%

Group III. Target/kaizen/life-cycle costing, throughput accounting, value analysis, and the paper's quantitative core — linear programming, transportation and assignment problems, simulation and decision theory, and project crashing.

Cost and Management Audit100 marks · 14.3%

Group IV. The statutory cost-audit framework — applicability thresholds, appointment, CRA-2/3/4 filing — plus management, operational and performance (three-Es) audit.

Corporate Financial Reporting100 marks · 14.3%

Group IV. Ind AS application, aliased wholesale from CA Final's Financial Reporting paper, extended with integrated reporting, BRSR and government accounting.

Indirect Tax Laws and Practice100 marks · 14.3%

Group IV. GST at full depth plus customs law and foreign trade policy — aliased wholesale from CA Final's Indirect Tax Laws paper.

What changed this cycle

Things last year's advice gets wrong

  • Syllabus 2022's Final level fixed the current Papers 13-20 structure across two groups, with a uniform 30% MCQ / 70% descriptive split confirmed across every paper, mirroring Intermediate's own structure.
  • ICMAI has announced a transition to CMA Syllabus 2026, with first application expected from around the June 2027 term per secondary reporting — the nearer December 2026 and May-June 2027 sittings remain governed by Syllabus 2022, which is what this hub is built against.
  • The Competition (Amendment) Act, 2023 added a parallel Rs. 2,000 crore deal-value threshold to the Competition Act's traditional asset/turnover-based combination-notification test, effective from 10 September 2024 — a live 2024 change now built into this hub's Corporate and Economic Laws content.
  • The Consumer Protection (Jurisdiction) Rules, 2021 revised the three-tier consumer commission's pecuniary jurisdiction downward from the 2019 Act's own original figures — District Commission jurisdiction is currently up to Rs. 50 lakh, not the Rs. 1 crore the Act itself originally specified.
