The tests you actually run — on paper, in a room, every Saturday morning.

Not the same as an online test
Online tests and quizzes are built and marked inside the platform. This is for a test you set on paper and mark yourself; all the platform stores is the score.

Overview

Open Test Results in the sidebar, pick a batch, add a test, enter the marks. Results stay private to you until you publish them.

Marked with OMR sheets?
Tests marked in the exam hall's OMR marking arrive here by themselves, one per batch, named after the exam and paper, with absentees already marked absent. Review them and publish them here like any other test.
Want the mistakes as well as the marks?
Photograph the written scripts in Answer Sheets — already corrected in red pen, or to be marked for you. Their totals arrive here after a preview, and when you publish, each student can open their marked script and the corrections.

Setting up a test

  1. Press Add test.
  2. Title, subject, the date it was held, marks out of, and optionally a pass mark.
  3. Add a note if you want the students to see one when the result comes out — "Q4 was outside the syllabus and has been dropped for everyone".

Entering marks

The mark sheet lists the batch. Type a score, or tick Absent. Each student can also carry a private remark — that is for you and your colleagues and is never shown to the student or their parents.

The class average, highest and lowest update as you go, so an impossible mark usually announces itself before you have finished the sheet.

Absent is not zero

This is the most important rule on the page
An absent student is left out of the class average, not counted as zero. Three absences would otherwise drag a class average down by a grade and make a good batch look like a failing one.

The same holds on the student's own record and on their report card: an absence is shown as an absence, not as a nought.

Publishing results

A test is invisible to students until you press Publish. Mark the whole batch, check it, then release it — nobody sees a half-finished sheet, and nobody sees their own result before you have decided the marking is right.

Unpublishing hides it again.

Weight

Each test has a weight, one by default. Give a monthly test a weight of three and a weekly test a weight of one, and the term average on the report card reflects what actually mattered.

What students and parents see

  • Their own mark, the class average, out of how many, and your note.
  • Published tests only.
  • Never the private remark.
  • Never another student's mark.

Parents see exactly what their own child sees, read-only, on the Results tab of their dashboard.
