Flashcard Review

AI-generated flashcards with spaced repetition — study less, remember more.

Who this is for
Students who want an efficient way to memorise definitions, formulas, and key facts from their course chapters using a scientifically proven spaced-repetition algorithm.

Overview

Flashcards are auto-generated from the chapter notes in the platform's curriculum knowledge pool. You don't need to create them — they appear automatically for subjects and chapters in your enrolled courses. You can also generate flashcards for any chapter via the Flashcard Review page by selecting board, grade, subject, and chapter.

The review algorithm uses spaced repetition: cards you find hard are shown more frequently; cards you know well are pushed further into the future. This concentrates your study time exactly where it's needed.

How spaced repetition works

After you answer a card, you rate how well you recalled it (Again / Hard / Good / Easy). The algorithm adjusts the card's interval — how many days until you see it again:

RatingIntervalEffect
🔄 AgainReset to 1 dayCard moved to today's review pile
😰 Hard×0.5 of current intervalSeen again soon
👍 Good×2.5 of current intervalInterval grows normally
⚡ Easy×4 of current intervalLong gap before next review

This means a card you've mastered might not come up again for 2–3 weeks, while a difficult card reappears tomorrow — keeping your memory fresh with minimal effort.

Using flashcards

  1. Go to Dashboard → Flashcards.
  2. If you have enrolled courses, your due cards for today are shown automatically. The counter shows how many are due.
  3. Read the front of the card (the question / term). Think of your answer before flipping.
  4. Click Show Answer to reveal the back.
  5. Rate your recall: Again, Hard, Good, or Easy.
  6. Repeat until today's due pile is empty. A study session typically takes 5–15 minutes.
Daily habit = best results
Flashcard review only takes a few minutes per day when done consistently. Missing a day doubles the number of due cards — try to review every morning.

Quality ratings

ButtonWhen to use
🔄 AgainYou had no idea or got it completely wrong
😰 HardYou got it right but it took significant effort or you nearly forgot
👍 GoodYou recalled it correctly with a little effort
⚡ EasyYou knew it immediately and confidently

Be honest — over-rating cards as Easy will cause you to forget them before the next review arrives.

Mastery levels

Each card belongs to one of four mastery levels based on its review history:

  • 🔴 Red — New or repeatedly forgotten; reviewed daily
  • 🟡 Yellow — Learning; reviewed every 2–5 days
  • 🟢 Green — Known well; reviewed every 1–3 weeks
  • 🔵 Blue — Deeply mastered; reviewed monthly

The level of each card also feeds back into your Learning Profile — flashcard activity updates your topic mastery map alongside diagnostic test results.

Tips

  • Don't add too many new cards at once. The app limits new cards to 20 per day per subject to prevent review pile-up.
  • Focus on Red and Yellow cards first. Blue cards are already well known — concentrate effort on the ones that need work.
  • Use AI Tutor Chat if a card confuses you. Instead of just marking it "Again", ask Aiden (the AI tutor) to explain the concept — you'll learn it faster.
