Overview
The Goal Tracker lets you create structured goals with a target date, measurable milestones, and a current-score indicator. Instead of vague intentions ("study harder"), you define specific goals ("Achieve 80% in Maths by March 31") and track evidence of progress as you go.
All active goals appear on your Dashboard → Goals page and in the student overview panel. Completed and abandoned goals are preserved in history so you can look back at what you've achieved.
Goal categories
| Category | Example |
|---|---|
| Academic | Achieve 85% in Chemistry by end of term |
| Exam Prep | Complete 3 mock JEE papers per week before exam date |
| Skill | Master Integration and Differentiation by April 15 |
| Habit | Study at least 1 hour every day for 30 consecutive days |
Creating a goal
- Go to Dashboard → Goals and click Add Goal.
- Choose a category (Academic / Exam Prep / Skill / Habit).
- Enter a title (keep it specific and measurable) and optionally a description with more context.
- Set a target date — the deadline you're working toward.
- Optionally set a current score (e.g. your last test score) and a target score. The progress bar fills as your score improves.
- Add milestones — intermediate checkpoints on the way to the goal (see below).
- Click Save Goal.
Milestones & progress
Each goal can have up to 10 milestones — smaller steps that build toward the overall goal. For example:
- Week 1: Revise chapters 1–3
- Week 2: Complete 20 practice questions on each chapter
- Week 3: Take a mock test and score ≥ 65%
Check off each milestone as you complete it. The overall goal progress bar reflects the proportion of milestones completed, plus any score improvement logged.
You can update the current score at any time to reflect your latest test result — the progress bar updates automatically.
Goal statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Active | In progress; shown on your main dashboard |
| Achieved | You met the goal! Awarded XP bonus and stored in achievements history |
| Abandoned | You chose to stop pursuing this goal; still visible in history |
Mark a goal Achieved when you've hit your target — you'll receive an XP bonus. If circumstances change and a goal is no longer relevant, mark it Abandoned rather than deleting it, so your history remains complete.
Tips
- Review goals weekly. Spend 2 minutes each Sunday checking whether milestones are on track and adjusting the target date if needed.
- Combine with streaks. A Habit goal pairs perfectly with the Streak system — maintaining your daily streak is direct evidence of habit progress.
- Keep ≤ 3 active goals. Too many goals dilutes focus. Choose the two or three most important things for the current term.
