Overview
Availability is a recurring weekly schedule, not a calendar you fill in date by date. You say “Tuesdays 4pm to 7pm” once and it holds every Tuesday until you change it.
Everything downstream depends on it: the booking flow, your calendar, and whether a student who lands on your profile at 11pm can book you without waiting for a reply.
Setting your weekly hours
- Open Dashboard → Availability.
- Pick a day of the week.
- Pick a start and end time. Slots run from 06:00 to 22:00 in half-hour steps.
- Add it. Repeat for every block you want open.
You can add several blocks to the same day — a morning window and an evening window, with the middle of the day left closed.
What students see
On your profile, a student sees only the times you have opened, with anything already booked removed. They pick a slot and book it — see booking a session for the student side.
Because the slot was already yours to give, there is no back-and-forth to agree a time. That is the entire point of setting it.
Changing or removing slots
Remove a slot and it stops being offered from that moment on. Sessions already booked into it are not cancelled — removing availability closes future bookings, it does not undo commitments you have made. Cancel those from your bookings if you need to.
Getting booked more
- Open evenings and weekends. School students are in school during the day; that is when demand actually is.
- Open more than you expect to fill. An open slot costs nothing and an absent one cannot be booked.
- Keep it honest. A slot you cancel out of is worse for your rating than a slot you never opened.
- Review it each term. Your own timetable changes; stale availability produces bookings you have to cancel.
Common questions
Can I block a single date without changing my weekly hours?
Yes — manage one-off exceptions from your calendar. Availability is the recurring baseline.
What if I am booked for a class at that time?
Booked time is removed from what students are offered, so you cannot be double-booked into an existing session.
Do I need availability to run a course or a live class?
No. Availability governs one-to-one session bookings. Courses and scheduled live classes have their own timings.
