Overview
Open My Students, find the student, and press Move on their card.
How to move someone
- Pick the batch they are going to. Only your own batches are listed.
- Add a reason if it helps — "timings clash", "parent request".
- Confirm. The note on the confirmation tells you what will and will not follow them.
What moves with them
- Their fee plan, every payment, every receipt and every concession.
- Their test marks.
- Their report cards.
None of this is copied. Their enrolment itself moves, and all of the above is attached to the enrolment, so it comes along.
What does not
Attendance. It is worked out from a batch's own sessions, so from the day they move their percentage reflects the batch they are now in, starting fresh there. Their old marks stay in the database and on the old batch's register — nothing is deleted, it simply is not counted towards a batch they were not in.
The screen says this before you move them, not after, because it may change your mind about moving someone three weeks before a certificate threshold.
Moving across courses
You can move a student to a batch of a different course — Class 11 Physics to Class 12, say. It is allowed because institutes genuinely do it, but the confirmation warns you that:
- their fee plan may no longer match the new course's price, and
- earlier marks may not make sense on a report card for the new course.
Neither is blocked. You are told, and you decide.
When it will not let you
- The batch they are already in.
- A batch they are already enrolled in separately.
- A batch that is full — the same seat limit that enrolling respects.
- Anything that is not yours. Another institute's student simply is not found.
Who gets told
The student, and any linked parent. Being moved changes when and where somebody turns up, so they are told rather than left to discover it by arriving at the wrong time.
Every move is recorded — where from, where to, when, by whom and why — so "who moved her?" has an answer.
