Overview
After each live class, the AI Study Notes feature can generate a concise, curriculum-aligned summary of what was covered — automatically. The AI uses class metadata (subject, chapter, topics, batch, date) and, if provided, a transcript of the class recording to produce notes that cover:
- Key concepts taught in the session
- Important definitions and formulas
- Examples and worked problems discussed
- Summary of homework assigned
- Topics to revise before the next class
Students can access the notes from the class detail page immediately after generation.
Generating notes (tutor)
- Go to Tutor Dashboard → Classes → [select past class].
- Click Generate Study Notes.
- If you have a transcript (e.g. downloaded from your video conferencing tool), paste it in the transcript field (optional — see next section).
- Click Generate. Notes are typically ready in 10–20 seconds.
- Review the generated notes. You can edit any section before saving.
- Click Save & Publish to make the notes visible to enrolled students.
Adding a transcript
If your class was recorded and your video platform (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.) provides an auto-generated transcript, you can paste up to 12,000 characters (approx. 2,400 words) of the transcript into the Notes Generator. The AI uses this as the primary source for what was actually said in class, producing much more accurate and detailed notes.
If no transcript is provided, the AI generates notes based on the class metadata and the chapter content from the platform's knowledge pool — useful as a fallback but less specific to what you actually taught.
Students accessing notes
Once published, students can find the study notes:
- Dashboard → Classes → [class] → Study Notes
- Via the post-class notification (a notification is sent when notes are published)
Notes are displayed as formatted text with headings for each section. Students can print them or use browser zoom if they prefer a larger view.
Tips
- Review before publishing. AI-generated notes are a starting point. A 2-minute review to fix any inaccuracies or add examples you mentioned is well worth it.
- Use for absent students. AI Study Notes are particularly valuable for students who missed a class — they get a reliable summary instead of relying on a classmate's notes.
- Generate for every class. Consistent study notes establish a professional standard and significantly increase student engagement and satisfaction ratings.
