CUET UG 2026 — Complete General Test Preparation Course

The Common University Entrance Test (UG) is the single gateway to undergraduate admission at central universities and a growing list of state, deemed and private universities across India. It replaced the old board-percentage cutoff race, which means your Class 12 marks no longer decide admission on their own — the CUET score does. This course covers the General Test (Section III), which is the most widely taken section of the paper. It is compulsory for a large number of programmes and accepted in place of a domain paper by many others, so it is the one section most CUET candidates cannot avoid. The format is 50 compulsory questions in 60 minutes. The marking is what makes this paper unusual: +5 for a correct answer and −1 for a wrong one. That 5:1 ratio inverts the usual advice about guessing. On a paper marked +4 / −1, a coin-flip between two options is worth taking. Here the arithmetic is even more forgiving — the upside of a correct answer is five times the downside — so informed guessing is actively profitable and excessive caution is what costs candidates their seat. How the course is structured: The General Test is taught as one integrated section rather than as separate subjects, because that is how the paper is set — 50 questions drawn from general knowledge and current affairs, mental ability, logical and analytical reasoning, and numerical ability at roughly Class 8 level. Topics are sequenced by their real share of the paper, so General Knowledge & Current Affairs and Reasoning get proportionally more time than the lighter Data Interpretation block. Every drill runs against a 72-second-per-question clock from the first chapter, and attempt-strategy sessions teach where the +5 / −1 arithmetic makes a guess worth taking.
