Questions

Where do I get the CBSE result file?

CBSE gives each school its result as a text file on cbseresults.nic.in, through the school's login, on the day results are declared. Download the .txt file and drop it in here.

Is our students' data uploaded?

No. The file is read in your browser and the results are worked out on your device. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you sign in and choose to save the year's summary (the totals, subjects and top ten) to compare years.

How is the best-five percentage worked out?

CBSE awards no overall percentage: which five subjects count is up to whoever asks. Choose the top five marks, or English plus the best four. Either way it is the school's own figure.

What is the Performance Index?

The measure many schools report: grade points from 8 for A1 down to 0 for E, added up and shown as a share of every student getting A1. It needs the grades in the file.

Save your results as a spreadsheet (CSV), one row per student, with columns for the name, gender, each subject's marks and the result. Download the template on the page.
