Overview
A real-time conversation with your AI tutor: you speak, it answers out loud, and you can interrupt it like a person. It replies in the language you speak — Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, English or a mix — with technical terms in English. Because nobody can follow algebra by ear, every formula and diagram it mentions appears on your board beside the chat.
Starting a call
- Press Call Aiden above the chat. The call panel opens on the right, next to the chat.
- Choose Tutor or Viva practice, and optionally type a topic.
- Press Start the call and allow the microphone. Aiden says hello and asks what you want to work on.
Aiden uses the teaching style and preferences you set in the chat.
During the call
- Just talk. A line under the orb shows whether Aiden is speaking or listening.
- The orb is your microphone: tap it to mute, tap again to unmute.
- Your board fills with formulas and diagrams as they come up, newest first. It stays there for you to read and copy.
- Live captions show the last few lines of the conversation.
- The panel shows how long the call has run and how many minutes are left.
- Press End call when you're done.
Show your notebook
Stuck on your own working? Press Show my notebook and take a photo of the page. It is read, your maths is checked line by line by our maths engine, and Aiden gets both — so it talks you through the exact line that went wrong, rather than guessing.
Viva practice
Choose Viva practice and type what the viva is on (“Ohm's law practical”). Aiden becomes an examiner: one question at a time, following up on what you say, never giving the answer. After about eight questions it wraps up, and your viva is scored out of 20 on conceptual clarity, depth and accuracy, application under probing and communication — the same rubric as the Practice Studio viva room — with what you should have mentioned.
What a call leaves behind
When the call ends, it is written up for you (in English, whatever language you spoke):
- Remember — the key points of the call.
- Doubts you cleared — saved to your Error Book (as Voice call), so they come back for revision.
- Flashcards for anything you didn't know or got wrong during the call, reviewed right there with spaced repetition.
- For a viva, your score and feedback.
Minutes and take-turns mode
- Every student gets 15 free minutes of calls a day (resetting at midnight), and a single call can last up to 20 minutes.
- When the minutes run out, the panel switches to take-turns mode: tap the orb, speak, and Aiden answers out loud. It's slower than a live call, but unlimited.
- You can also choose Take turns instead at any time, for example on a slow connection.
Privacy
- Your voice goes directly from your browser to our AI provider to hold the conversation. We don't store the audio.
- The transcript, your board and the write-up are saved to your account, visible only to you.
- For students under 18, calls need a parent's consent for AI help — see Data protection.
Troubleshooting
- “Allow microphone access.” Allow it in your browser's site settings (the icon in the address bar), then start again.
- No sound from Aiden. Check your phone isn't on silent and the volume is up.
- The call dropped. On a weak connection a call can drop; whatever was said is still written up. Start another, or use take-turns mode.
- Calls work in current Chrome, Edge and Safari. Headphones stop Aiden hearing itself.
