Tutor verification

Get the Verified badge on your profile — it signals to students and parents that your identity and qualifications have been reviewed by the Tuition.in team.

Why get verified?

Verification builds trust with students and parents who are choosing between tutors. Verified tutors:

  • Display a Verified badge on their public profile and in search results.
  • Rank higher in Tuition.in search results (verification is a positive ranking signal).
  • Are eligible for the Featured Tutors placement on the homepage.
  • Build significantly more student enquiries — verified profiles average 3× more contact requests.

Eligibility

You can apply for verification once you have:

  • A completed tutor profile (photo, bio, subjects, grade levels, city, rates).
  • At least one valid government-issued ID.
  • At least one academic or professional qualification document.
Profile completeness matters
Incomplete profiles (no photo, no bio, no subjects) are typically returned for corrections before verification is approved. Complete your profile at Dashboard → Edit Profile first.

Required documents

You must upload at least one ID document and at least one qualification document.

Identity documents (choose one)
  • Aadhaar card (front & back)
  • PAN card
  • Passport (photo page)
  • Voter ID
  • Driving licence
Qualification documents (choose one or more)
  • Degree certificate (B.Ed., B.Sc., B.Com., M.A., M.Sc., etc.)
  • Marksheet (final year or consolidated)
  • Teaching experience letter (on institution letterhead)
  • Professional certification (CTET, STET, NET/SET, IIT-JEE mentorship, etc.)
File format & size
Upload documents as JPG, PNG, or PDF. Maximum file size is 5 MB per file. Make sure text is clearly legible — blurry or cropped images will be rejected.

Submitting for verification

  1. Go to Dashboard → Verification.
  2. Read the document checklist and click Start Verification.
  3. Upload your ID document(s) and qualification document(s) using the upload fields. You can upload multiple files.
  4. Add any optional notes for the reviewer — e.g. "ID is my Aadhaar, degree is from Delhi University (2019)".
  5. Click Submit for Review. Your verification status will change to Pending immediately.
You can still teach while under review
Submitting for verification does not pause your account. You can continue teaching, accepting bookings, and creating courses while the review is in progress.

The review process

Once you submit, the Tuition.in admin team reviews your documents manually. Here's what happens:

  1. Queued — Your submission enters the review queue. You'll see status Pending.
  2. In review — An admin opens your submission. Status changes to In Progress. This typically happens within 1–2 business days.
  3. Decision — The admin either:
    • Approves — your profile gets the Verified badge and you receive a notification.
    • Rejects — if documents are invalid, expired, or illegible. You'll receive a notification with the reason and can resubmit.
    • Flags — if there's a discrepancy that needs your response. An admin may reach out via email.
Typical turnaround
Most verification reviews are completed within 2–3 business days. You'll receive an in-platform notification and an email when the decision is made.

After verification

  • Your public profile shows a green Verified badge next to your name.
  • Search results display the badge, increasing click-through from students.
  • The Verified status is permanent unless your account is later flagged for a policy violation.
  • You do not need to re-verify if you update your profile, add subjects, or change your rates.
Keep your documents current
If you change your name legally or your qualification documents expire (e.g. a time-limited certification), you may be asked to resubmit. Contact [email protected] if you need to update your verification record.

FAQ

Can I resubmit if my application is rejected?
Yes. After a rejection you can upload new or corrected documents and resubmit from the Verification page. There's no limit on resubmissions.

Is verification required to teach on Tuition.in?
No. Verification is optional but strongly recommended. Unverified tutors can still create courses and accept bookings — they just don't display the Verified badge.

Does verification cover coaching centres?
Coaching centres and institutions have a separate verification process handled during onboarding. See the Institution onboarding guide.

Can I see the status of my review?
Yes — the current status is always visible at Dashboard → Verification.
