Question Bank

Store, organise, and reuse questions across tests and AI quiz generation — tagged by board, grade, subject, chapter, and difficulty.

Tutors & Institutions7 min read
Who this is for
Tutors and institution administrators who create frequent tests and want to maintain a curated library of questions rather than writing the same questions from scratch each time.

Overview

The Question Bank is a persistent, searchable library of questions you own. Every question is tagged with board, grade, subject, chapter, topic, and difficulty — making it easy to find exactly the questions you need when composing a test or configuring the AI quiz generator.

Questions can be:

  • Multiple Choice (MCQ) with configurable options and correct answer
  • Short Answer
  • Long Answer / Essay
  • True/False

Adding questions

  1. Go to Tutor Dashboard → Question Bank.
  2. Click Add Question.
  3. Fill in the metadata: Board, Grade, Subject, Chapter, Topic (optional), and Difficulty (Easy / Medium / Hard).
  4. Choose the question type and enter the question text.
  5. For MCQ: enter all options and mark the correct one. For Short/Long answer: add a model answer (used by the AI grader as reference).
  6. Click Save. The question is immediately available for use.
Tag accurately
Accurate board/grade/subject/chapter tagging is what makes the bank useful at scale. A question tagged with the wrong chapter won't appear when you're composing a chapter- specific test.

Browsing & filtering

The Question Bank page has a sidebar filter with the following options:

  • Subject
  • Topic
  • Grade
  • Board
  • Chapter
  • Difficulty (Easy / Medium / Hard)
  • Search — full-text search across question text

Combine filters to find questions quickly. Results are paginated (20 per page) with a total count shown.

Using questions in tests

When creating a test or quiz via the Create Tests & Quizzes feature, there is a Add from Question Bank button. This opens a filterable picker showing all your saved questions. Select the questions you want to include and they are added to the test immediately.

The AI Quiz Generator also draws on the question bank — if matching questions exist for the selected chapter, they are prioritised over AI-generated ones, maintaining your personal quality standard.

Tips

  • Build the bank incrementally. After each test, save the best questions to the bank. Over one term you'll have hundreds of well-tagged questions.
  • Include model answers. Even for MCQ questions, add an explanation note — the AI grader and your students benefit from seeing why the correct option is right.
  • Mix difficulties. For each chapter, aim for a rough split of 40% Easy, 40% Medium, 20% Hard. This lets you compose differentiated tests quickly.
