CBSE Class 12 Science (PCM) 2026 — Complete Board Course

The CBSE Class 12 board examination is the qualification that closes school and, for science students, runs in direct parallel with JEE preparation. Board marks matter on their own terms — they gate university admission through CUET and set the eligibility criteria that JEE Main itself applies for NIT and IIIT admission. Physics and Chemistry are each assessed as a 70-mark theory paper of three hours plus 30 marks of practical work. Mathematics is an 80-mark theory paper plus 20 marks of internal assessment. There is no negative marking anywhere, and step marks are awarded for correct working. The most common mistake Class 12 science students make is treating boards and JEE as competing demands. They are not: the chapter lists overlap almost entirely. What differs is depth and question style — the board asks you to derive, state and explain, while JEE asks you to apply under time pressure. A student who prepares the same chapter twice, in two different modes, is doing double work for no reason. This course teaches board-mode explicitly — derivations, statements of law, labelled diagrams and answers written to the mark allocation — on the same chapters a JEE aspirant is already studying. The 30 practical marks in Physics and Chemistry get the same treatment, because they are nearly a third of each subject and are lost far more often through poor record work than through poor experiments. How the course is structured: Each subject is taught chapter by chapter against CBSE's published unit weightage. Teaching is deliberately in board mode — derivations written out in full, laws stated precisely, diagrams labelled, and answers structured to the mark allocation — because that is what the paper rewards and it is exactly the mode JEE-focused preparation neglects. Where a chapter is shared with JEE, that overlap is made explicit so students revise once rather than twice. Practical work in Physics and Chemistry is planned alongside the theory rather than compressed before the practical exam, since it carries 30 of each subject's 100 marks.
