Who this is for
Students and tutors in a batch who want a structured space for academic discussion beyond the live class chat — including threaded Q&A, topic discussions, and collaborative study groups.
Overview
Every batch has its own Discussion Board — a threaded forum where students can post questions, share notes, and discuss topics. In addition, students can form smaller Study Groups around specific subjects or chapters for focused peer learning.
Batch discussion
- Go to Dashboard → Discussion (or the Discussion tab within your batch).
- Browse existing threads — they are sorted by most recent activity by default.
- To ask a question, click New Discussion. Give it a clear title and choose a topic tag if available.
- Other students and your tutor can reply to your thread. You'll receive a notification when someone replies.
- Mark a reply as the Accepted Answer once your question is resolved — this helps classmates find the answer quickly.
Search before posting
Before creating a new thread, search the discussion board — your question may already have been answered. Duplicate questions clutter the board.
Study groups
Study groups are smaller, self-organised groups of students from the same batch who want to study together on a specific topic or chapter.
- Create a group: Click Create Study Group, give it a name (e.g. "Thermodynamics Revision"), choose the subject, and invite classmates.
- Join a group: Browse open groups in the Study Groups tab and clickJoin. The group creator can also share an invite link.
- Group discussion: Each study group has its own discussion thread separate from the main batch board.
- Size limit: Study groups are capped at 8 members to keep discussions focused.
Roles & moderation
| Role | Capabilities |
|---|---|
| Student | Post, reply, upvote, accept answers in their own threads |
| Tutor | Post, reply, pin threads, mark accepted answers, delete inappropriate posts |
| Study Group Creator | Invite/remove members, change group name, delete the group |
Content moderation is handled by the tutor. Students can report inappropriate posts using the flag icon on any post.
Tips
- Write clear questions. Include the chapter, what you tried, and what confused you. "Why does this happen in chapter 5?" is harder to answer than "In chapter 5 (Electrostatics), I understand the definition of charge but I'm confused about why like charges repel — can someone explain the mechanism?"
- Help others. Answering a classmate's question is one of the best ways to consolidate your own understanding.
- Keep study groups active. A study group with no posts in 7 days will be archived automatically.
