Little Tiger, Big Tiger
About the Story
What it is about: A TIGER CUB lives with his mother in the JUNGLE. The mother tiger teaches the cub how to HUNT and SURVIVE. But the cub is PLAYFUL and easily DISTRACTED. Will he learn to be a big, strong tiger?
The Story
Deep in the JUNGLE, a TIGER CUB was born. He had soft, STRIPED fur and big, curious eyes. His mother was a STRONG and WISE tigress.
Every day, the mother tiger taught the cub IMPORTANT lessons:
'Come,' said the mother. 'I will teach you how to HUNT.'
But the cub was BUSY playing with a BUTTERFLY. 'Later, Mama!' he said.
The mother tiger caught a DEER. 'Watch ME,' she said. 'You must learn to be SILENT, to CREEP close, and then — POUNCE!'
The cub tried. He crept... crept... but then he saw a MONKEY in a tree. 'Ooh, a monkey!' He forgot about the deer.
'You must FOCUS,' said the mother, patiently.
One day, while the mother was HUNTING, the cub wandered AWAY. He played with a fallen LEAF. He chased a LIZARD. Suddenly, he realised — he was LOST!
'Mother!' he cried.
From far away, he heard his mother's ROAR. He followed the sound and found her.
'I was SCARED,' said the cub.
'Fear is GOOD,' said the mother. 'Fear keeps you SAFE. Now, let me teach you AGAIN.'
This time, the cub PAID ATTENTION. He learned to creep SILENTLY, to wait PATIENTLY, and to POUNCE at the right moment.
Day by day, the little tiger grew BIGGER and STRONGER. He was becoming a BIG TIGER!

What We Can Learn
1. Growing Up Takes Time
The cub does not learn everything at ONCE. Growing up is a PROCESS. We also learn little by little.
2. Listen to Your Parents
The cub learns BEST when he PAYS ATTENTION to his mother. Our parents teach us IMPORTANT things.
3. Focus is Important
The cub gets DISTRACTED by a butterfly and a monkey. When we FOCUS, we learn better.
4. Fear is Natural
Even a tiger cub gets SCARED. It is OK to be scared sometimes — it keeps us SAFE.
5. Practice Makes Perfect
The cub learns by TRYING AGAIN and AGAIN. We also need to PRACTICE to get better at things.
