The foundation stone of JNV Madhubani was laid on December 21, 1986, by the then Chief Minister of Bihar, Bindeswari Dubey, in the buildings of the Agricultural Department at Ranti, P.O - Rampatti. The land was officially transferred to the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti in 2006, and full construction is still underway.
