History

The inception of Don Bosco School was a culmination of a long-standing vision to establish a Catholic educational institution in Itanagar. In July 1992, the Salesians of Don Bosco acquired land near Holy Trinity Church at Daath, Jully, which led to the inauguration of the school on February 11, 1993, by the then Minister of Civil Supplies, Mr. Tardar Taniang. The school commenced with Kindergarten classes, enrolling approximately 30 students, most of whom were boarders. (donboscoschoolitanagar.edu.in)

In October 1994, recognizing the need for expansion, the Salesians negotiated for forty bighas of land at Jully Hokah, where the foundation stone for the new school building was laid on August 17, 1995, by Chief Minister Gegong Apang and blessed by Bishop Robert Kerketta of Tezpur. Construction faced challenges due to the terrain but progressed steadily. By 1998, classes III to V were conducted at the new site, while Kindergarten to Class II continued at the original location. The new school building was inaugurated on August 16, 2001, by Chief Minister Mukut Mithi. (donboscoschoolitanagar.edu.in)
