What is IIT JEE
(JEE – Advanced) The Joint Entrance Examination – Advanced, formerly known as IIT-JEE(Indian Institutes of Technology Joint Entrance Examination) is an annual engineering entrance examination in India. It is the sole admission examination for the 23 Indian Institutes of Technology -IITs.
The examination is organised each year by one of the various IITs, on a round robin rotation pattern. It has a very low admission rate, and was thus recognised as one of the toughest examinations in the world. see more hide
Eligibility
Eligibility criteria for appearing in JEE (Advanced) are:
Candidates should rank among the top candidates in Paper-1 of JEE (Main), broken down per category. For example, for JEE (Advanced) 2019 the top 250,000 were eligible, but only 46.5% of those were open for all, the rest being reserved for special categories.
Candidates should have qualified the Class XII Board Examination (or equivalent) in the previous year.
